Dry Brushing
Do you want to get rid of cellulite? Do you have dry skin? Would you like younger looking and softer skin? Would you like better circulation? If you answered yes to any of these, I have a simple way to give you what you're looking for. It's called Dry Brushing and it's the latest thing that I've added to my day.
Dry Brushing is actually Brushing your skin with a natural fiber brush (which is what I use) or loofah. Dry Brushing stimulates lymph flow and circulation. A stagnant lymph system is connected to cellulite. Get that lymph moving and the cellulite will start looking so much better! Dry brushing helps get the lymph moving back into the circulatory system and the toxins circulated out. This is why it also helps with your immune system.
Dry brushing also helps bring circulation to the skin, which helps build better connective tissue and helps in rebuilding skin cells and firms the skin. The most obvious thing that Dry Brushing does is brush off old dead skin. This helps your skin look younger and stimulate your skin to produce more oil, keeping the skin soft and supple.
Your skin is your largest elimatory organ, but it can't always breathe like it should because it gets clogged with dead skin. Increasing circulation to the skin and brushing off the dead skin cells, keeps the skin eliminating wastes and toxins like it should.
Dry brushing also improves the nervous system, digestion, and tones your muscles! Now that you know, why not do this?
Dry Brushing is quite easy. I bought my brush off Vitacost.com for about $3. Here are the directions for Dry Brushing from the book "The Cellulite Solution"
Step 1
Use your fingers to gently massage the areas where your primary lymph ducts are. The ducts are to the left and right of your groin area and just below your collarbone. Spend only a few seconds on this portion of the massage, Gittleman advises. This helps open the ducts.
Step 2
Start your brush massage on the soles of your feet. Use a vigorous, circular motion. Start out pressing gently, and as your skin becomes healthier, press more firmly, Gittleman advises.
Move on to fast and short, upward strokes as you move the brush over your feet and then legs. Continue brushing upwards as you get to your buttocks, waist, stomach and breast areas.
Step 3
Use the circular motion on your palms, then move on to short, upward strokes again as you brush your hands and arms.
Move to the neck, and begin using downward strokes. Go out to your shoulders, down your back and down your breasts, stroking toward your heart. Avoid brushing your face.
Step 4
I would advice doing this before a shower so you can wash away any dead skin that's still on the surface. This process should take around 5 minutes. Remember, you always brush towards the heart:) Two other ways to get your lymph moving is by jumping on a trampoline or just exercising!!!
Have fun brushing!
