More of my favorites

I think that probably some of the best info I have for people is what brands to use. Having worked in Health Food stores for 5+ years, I was trained on all the different companies, their products, and their manufacturing processes. This is why I always say NEVER BUY YOUR SUPPLEMENTS FROM WALMART, or Sam's, or Costco...etc. Some of the good brands are now being sold at Walmart...but very few. Spring Valley, Nature's Bounty, and Nature Made...my opinion is a WASTE OF MONEY! There's really no telling how much or if any of what they put on the label is in the bottle. No one monitors herbs and supplements so it's up to the company to be honest and set up their own standards. This is why the stuff from Walmart is cheaper...they're not paying anyone or setting any testing up to make sure there products are good quality.
Having said all that...I certainly have my favorite companies and if you look at my supplements they're a pretty good mix of all different companies. Please get your supplements from a reputable store like a health food store.
Last week, I figured I'd stock up on supplements since we got our tax return:) I ordered some protein powder for Deryck and I since we're starting to work out, and I just need to increase my protein intake anyway. My favorite by leaps and bounds is the Jay Robb Whey Protein. It's so creamy and so delicious..but it's not cheap. He sweetens it with Stevia and uses milk that has no hormones in it...hence the price tag. If you don't like Whey, he also makes an Egg White and a Rice protein powder. Both of those taste good too, but they're not near as creamy. I decided to try another brand and save some money, so I bought the Natural Factors Whey Factors protein. It is also sweetened with stevia and is made with milk with no hormones. I think it saved me about $10, but I personally don't like it as well. I'm a little disappointed and wish I would have gone ahead and bought the Jay Robb. For the money though, the Whey Factors is great.
Something else that I got this order was Fat Soluble Vitamin C or Ascorbyl Palmitate by Source Naturals. Most Vit C is water soluble so it leaves the body pretty quickly, but the fat soluble form sticks around. Because of this, Ascorbyl Palmitate can perform more antioxidant activity. It is also recommended in the Perricone Prescription for skin because it aids in the formation of collagen. By the way, it is also called C-Ester, not to be confused with Ester-C.
Instead of writing one HUGE post, I'll try and post a couple more of the brands and products I'm using throughout the week.
