Sun=Health

Just a short tidbit. Please go out in the sun now that it's so nice out. It should be a daily health ritual for you. Not only does it boost your Vit D levels that are directly connected to your immune health, but it boosts your mood!
Of course you don't want to get burned, but 20-30 minutes exposing a lot of your skin (wear a tank top and shorts) is all you need. Don't succumb to the FEAR of getting a little sun. A light golden tan is healthy and will not give you cancer. Baking your skin to leather and getting a lot of sunburns can...
And don't forget that if you do use sunscreen use a mineral based kind. You can pick up Burts Bees at just about any store now, or go on Vitacost and search mineral sunscreens for a wide selection. Your local healthfood store will have them too.
Another tip...take astaxanthanin. It helps your skin not burn in the sun and is a wonderful antioxidant. It's not too expensive either.
So get out there today and get your daily D!!

Hello! My name is Emily and I used to live in KC and attended IHOP. I now reside in Los Angeles. I forget how I originally stumbled upon your blog, but I wanted you to know that I'm really blessed by it! I wanted to know where you are working on your degree. Are you are attending classes or taking them online?

Hi Emily,

I study through Clayton College of Natural Health, although I've learned more from working at Health Food stores to be honest. It is correspondence. Thanks!

Where can you get astaxathanin? I'm interested because I take a medication that causes photo sensitivity and work at a daycare. Everyday I am outside with the children and sunscreen alone doesn't prevent the "pinking" I get by the end of the week. (I don't tan at all, just turn pink/red and then pasty white all over again.) I don't mind looking like I've gotten some sun, but being pink and having to avoid the sun every weekend is getting annoying.
