Fat Phobia


Fat Phobia...Fear of eating fat. At least that's my definition. I definitely do not have this fear. I can't even begin to imagine how much fat I eat in a day. I put at least a tablespoon of pasture butter on my Ezekiel Toast each morning, eat full fat yogurt, eat avocados, drizzle olive oil on my vegetables, make dressing with Safflower oil, and saute in Coconut oil... I'm probably forgetting even more. Oh yeah, I am. Eggs...I eat LOT's of omega 3 eggs. They will not increase your cholesterol. Don't worry.
Avoiding fat is only good when it's bad fat. You want to avoid fried foods, hydrogenated oils, and basically any kind of processed foods even if they say "trans-fat free". Corn oil, soy oil, canola, and "vegetable oil" are not good for you. They're full of pesticides and do not contain the healthy omega's you want in an oil. Making your food from scratch and eating fresh food is always a great way to avoid unhealthy ingredients.
I am sooo sick of all the diets that focus on calorie counting and rob you of the nutrients and healthy fats your body needs. They seem to promote artificial sweeteners and processed foods all to avoid the forbidden fat and calories. These 1990's based low-fat diets have our nation brainwashed. Yes, you can lose weight on these diets, but there are healthier ways to lose the same weight. Anytime you cut calories you'll lose weight, it's not rocket science, but avoiding good fats will starve your body and brain of what it needs to thrive. And don't even get me started on HCG!!!
A great oil to start with is coconut oil. It may seem hard to believe, but this oil will actually help you burn fat and it stimulates your thyroid. Other healthy oils like primrose, borage, and flax oil help you burn fat as well, just not as well as coconut. Just make sure and get extra virgin, cold pressed coconut oil and any oild for that matter. I have an entire blog post devoted to coconut oil. If you're perimenopausal or in full fledge menopause, you might consider flax oil or blackcurrant oil. You'll have to get the blackcurrant in capsules and you cannot cook flax oil.
I'll say it again, and I feel like I've said it a hundred times... If you want to lose weight in a healthy way please, please, please...before you shoot yourself with HCG or replace your meals with shakes filled with artificial junk, buy The Fat Flush plan and try it first. You could also try the Fast Track Diet and Detox plan. Both books are by Anne Louise Gittleman and can be purchased on Amazon.com for very cheap. Anne Louise is a forerunner in Women's Health, Weight Loss and Detoxing. You will not be disappointed.
Fear sugar, Fear artificial sweeteners, Fear MSG, Fear refined carbs, but please, do not fear good health fats:)
